Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Administration

Twitchell and Rice, LLP provides services in estate planning, probate matters and trust administration. We advise clients on how to avoid or expedite probate and minimize estate taxes and other associated expenses. • Providing advice on minimizing estate taxes
• Preparation of revocable living trusts, simple wills and pour over wills
• Preparation of financial powers of attorney and health care powers of attorney
• Where probate of a decedent’s estate is necessary, we have substantial experience in probating the estate, handling the creditors’ claims, and litigating issues of family allowance, family homestead, and contested issues related to heirship
• Representation of trustees during the trust administration process, including advising trustees on initial and ongoing responsibilities, as well as the distribution and termination of an irrevocable trust
• Assist the surviving spouse after the death of the first spouse, including providing counsel on the allocation of assets to the subtrusts
• Handling will contests and trust litigation
• Formulating estate plans that are understandable and effective in achieving client’s wishes
